The Opportunity We are looking for an Electronic Repair Engineer III to expand our product and parts offering through expert reverse engineering skills and innovative design of test procedures. If you thrive on technical challenges, love solving complex puzzles, and want to work where your engineering intuition is valued, we would love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities:
- Reverse engineer medical imaging equipment including schematics, test procedures, and root-cause of failures.
- Design, document, and build test fixtures including programming where applicable.
- Create and maintain updated repair and operating procedures
- Assist other engineers and technicians with reverse engineering tasks and technical questions
- Make recommendations as a subject matter expert regarding procedures, equipment and parts needs for operations, and the cost-effective use of resources
- Collaborate with other departments and team members to optimize workflows and meet performance targets
- Maintain our ISO 13485 compliance by following processes and relevant work instructions. You may be asked to create, review, and update work instructions related to your role to support clear and streamlined workflows
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities you'll need for this opportunity:
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, with 10+ years of work experience, (Master's Degree with 4+ years of experience is preferred)
- Previous use of equipment such as VNA, spectrum Analyzer, oscilloscope, Hi-pot Tester, power supplies, and function generators
- Experience with reverse engineering and extracting software and firmware is a plus
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience troubleshooting (at bench level and system level) encompassing multiple variables to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Experience working with high voltage equipment (3~ 208V and 3~ 480V)
- Experience with high-power RF amplifiers including tube amplifiers and solid-state amplifiers
- Experience with high-power switching audio amplifiers and IGBTs
- Experience with high-current power supplies
- Experience in creating schematics and test procedures
- Experience with reverse engineering and extracting software and firmware is a plus
- Experience working with MRI or CT high-power equipment is a plus
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
