Job Title: Electronic Design Engineer, Senior/ Principal

Position Overview: The Electronic DesignEngineer, Senior / Principal will utilize in depth knowledge to develop, design,maintain, or improve electrical and photonics components, products, or systemsfor Commercial,Aerospace & Defense and other wireless applications. Will demonstrateconceptual and practical expertise in electronic design challenges and basicknowledge of related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requiresspecialized depth and/or knowledge or expertise in the design, drafting,test, and release of new electronics products, devices, circuits, and/orsystems. Productsinclude analog RF fiber optic links, high-speed digital fiber optictransceivers and fiber optic amplifiers. Products utilize microprocessorsand firmware.
• Beresponsible for all design activities and related product developmentactivities from kick-off through engineering evaluation and write test andassembly plans and procedures.
• Acts as aresource to develop team atmosphere together withour transistor designers, our application, and device engineering teams.
• Initiateprototype builds and manage product characterization. Design evaluationboards and characterization fixtures, direct or perform measurements, andprocess and present evaluation data against the product development goals.
• Provide clearstatus reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing test data.
• Expert in formal stage-gate new product introductionprocess.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrateswith other others.
• Awareness of the competition and the factors thatdifferentiate them in the market.
• Impacts a range of customer, operational, project orservice activities within own team and other related teams, acts asresource for colleagues.
• Work with our Product Engineering group to transfer products to production.

Key Competencies & Skills required:

• In depth understanding of a variety ofRF/Microwave/mmWave, optical networking circuit architectures.
• Knowledge of electronics board design (schematics) and writingsoftware/firmware requirements for electronic boards with microprocessorsis required.
• Analyzes best practices to improve product, processes,or services.
• Strong ability to solve complex problems and takes a newperspective on existing solutions.
• Fluentwith relevant electronics simulation tools, software, and test equipment(spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power meter, etc.).
• Fluent inElectro-magnetic and/or Electro-optic simulations,thermal simulation.
• Experienced with integration andexperience designing for high yield and low cost.
• Strong knowledgeof the operation and calibration of industry standard test equipment.
• Experience with the design of evaluation boardsincluding both electrical and thermal aspects.
• Familiaritywith AutoCAD or other drawing packages is desirable.
• Strongknowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree inelectrical engineering, physics, or similar studies. Advanced degree ishighly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 yearsof experience in relevant electronics / photonics design engineering.
• Senior / Principaltitle will be assigned based on the experience of the candidate.

The Salary Range for this positionis $98,000-$170,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on severalfactors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates'experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
