Summary: The purpose of this position is to maintain and repair all electrical systems owned by the NTTA. This is accomplished by PM inspection, Customer Service Request, planned work, special projects and emergency repairs. Secondary is new construction. Other duties include referencing drawings for the location of various components compiling electrical systems, locating, and marking utilities for contractors and advising contractors on NTTA requirements for the installation of electrical systems. Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, must be able to document work activity including labor and supplies using CMMS computer program, must be able to document work time using CMMS computer program. Must be able to communicate effectively using the telephone or two-way radio. Will be required to work scheduled shift during Snow and Ice events performing various tasks as assigned. ***Retention Bonus: $2,000******Pay Range: $28.55/hr - $37.57/hr*** This is a designated essential employee position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook which required to maintain agency operations during an emergency or inclement weather situations. The position is also required to be on call a week at a time from Sunday to Sunday on a rotating schedule. This is a Safety-Sensitive Position as defined in the NTTA Employee Handbook. Responsibilities:
- Maintains and completes routine and emergency repairs by inspecting and troubleshooting electrical systems, locating underground electrical circuits, locating damaged electrical conductors, and making repairs as required.
- Trouble-shoots motor control circuits and associated equipment. Reads and evaluates blueprints, interprets the National Electrical Code in relation to NTTA projects and contractor projects and orders equipment and supplies.
- Installs various types of electrical systems including new construction and special projects/systems, and the remodel of and modification to existing systems as necessary.
- Inspects contractor work and on occasion completes items not covered under the scope of the contractor's contract.
- Completes job assignments by operating vehicles and equipment during inclement weather conditions, making minor repairs to property and equipment, setting and monitoring goals and objectives, and maintaining costs.
- Performs hand excavation of trenches and digging as required.
Qualifications: M inimum:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- State of Texas Journeyman Electricians' license.
- At least three years of experience in electrical construction.
- A valid Texas Class C Driver's license.
- Ability to get Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License within 12 months of hire.
Preferred:
- A valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's license.
