Position OverviewThe Electrical Superintendent is a key leadership role responsible for the on-site management, coordination, and execution of electrical construction activities. This individual will work closely with project managers, engineers, forepersons, and tradespeople to ensure that all project requirements are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality.
Primary Responsibilities• Supervise and coordinate all electrical construction activities at the job site, ensuring work is performed in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and safety protocols.• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.• Collaborate with project managers and other superintendents to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, adjusting as necessary to address changes, delays, or unforeseen conditions.• Interpret and apply blueprints, specifications, Electrical Code (NEC), and local building codes to all aspects of project execution.• Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of workmanship, and adherence to safety protocols.• Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure expectations are understood and met.• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical or logistical issues as they arise.• Maintain accurate daily reports, workforce logs, and documentation related to project activities.• Analyze project plans and specifications to anticipate potential challenges and develop proactive solutions.• Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry safety standards.• Participate in project meetings, safety briefings, and coordination sessions as required.• Assist in the training and development of junior staff, fostering their growth into future leaders within the company.
Qualifications• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in electrical technology or construction management .• Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license highly desirable.• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.• Comprehensive knowledge of the Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and industry best practices.• Proven track record of leading successful electrical construction projects, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.• Strong understanding of electrical systems, equipment, and installation methods.• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.• Commitment to safety and quality at every stage of the project.• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.• Proficiency with project management software and MS Office Suite is an asset.• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites as needed.
Attributes• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.• Experience with lean construction methods and continuous improvement practices.• Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and related technologies.• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.• Dedication to mentoring and developing team members.

Physical Requirements• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time on uneven terrain.• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment safely.• Comfort working at heights, on scaffolding, and in various weather conditions.
