With $8.8 billion in annual transactions and 1,400+ professionals in 17 core markets, Stream is one of the most successful commercial real estate firms in the nation.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be a part of the Operations team and will act as the campus data center electrical system technical operations expert. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will need to have a broad understanding of electrical system and equipment function and will be responsible for procedure-based electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The candidate will need to be experienced in Low Voltage & Medium Voltage power distribution, electrical protection & controls systems, UPS and battery systems, electrical testing, applicable electrical codes and standards, and have a basic understanding of mechanical systems. The Electrical Subject Matter Expert will provide daily assistance to Critical Engineering Technicians to interpret blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems, support construction installation and commissioning, and assess electrical equipment conditions. In addition to technical capability, this candidate will be equipped with project management skills that are essential for team alignment to corporate strategies.RESPONSIBILITIESServe as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operationEnsure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local electrical team and applicable local and global teamsConduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipmentPlan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational riskOversee electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems are in compliance with best practices, including change control processesProvide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activityLead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertiseProvide training to Critical Engineer Technicians and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changesManage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit workProvide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and global electrical system design improvementsContribute to electrical safety program for siteProvide support in a critical environment with potential for high stress decision makingOccasional travel for factory witness tests, collaboration, training, etc.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS7+ years relevant electrical industry experience or electrical trade level experienceBachelor's degree or trade certification in related field plus 3+ years relevant electrical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 7+ years relevant electrical industry experienceExperience in critical environments.Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or constructionWorking knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based workWorking knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systemsExperience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawingsExperience in comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawingsExperience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in a data center industry.NETA or NICET electrical testing experience/certificationsInstrumentation & control, power system protection, power automation, etc. experienceExperience in high voltage (up to 345kV) equipment construction, operation, and maintenanceTrade Certification or state license as an electricianEquipment field service engineering or representative experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/CONSIDERATIONSPerform physical tasks, including moving heavy equipment ( up to 50 pounds), operating critical infrastructure, crawling in tight spaces.Work in a noisy environment with ear protection and eye protection; potential to work at heights and from laddersPerform extended site rounds that could include long distances of walking and long periods of time being away from a desk. Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.Base range $120,000 - $140,000. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related reasons.
