Electrical Service Technician - Facility Solutions Group : Job Details

As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions Facility Solutions Group is expanding its staff and seeking a Service Electrician to join our Dallas team.

The field service technician performs different types of support at the customer's location, such as troubleshooting, setup, and installation of systems and equipment.

Field Service Technician Tasks:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair units while in the field.
• Maintain records of service calls, training, and expenses.
• Provide on-call emergency service as required and maintain communication with the department manager while in the field.
• Educate customers on preventive maintenance and safety regulations, and provide general customer service on the phone and in person.
• Perform other duties assigned by the manager.

A Service Technician is responsible for managing electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting within commercial settings. They are responsible for managing small electrical projects on a fast timeline and for providing unparalleled customer service and support during emergency electrical service calls.

The ideal candidate will satisfy the following requirements and qualifications:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• Have current State Issued Journeyman Electrician's License
• Have possess valid driver's license and able to pass MVR to drive a company vehicle
• Have ability to pass DOT, drug screen, and background check
• Ability to multitask while staying organized
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Positive customer service skills
• Experience in lighting a plus!

Physical Demands

• Sitting ability to remain in normal seated position for prolonged period.
• Standing ability to stand on ones feet with little to no movement for a prolonged period.
• Walking ability to move around on ones feet for long period of time, often without breaks.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Bending ability to bend at waist, hips, and knees, sometimes for a prolonged period.
• Pushing up to 50 pounds.
• Pulling up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on and maneuver a ladder safely, both 3 legged and extension ladders for a prolonged period.
