What You'll Do
As our Electrical Estimator, you'll play a key role in setting projects up for success. You'll work closely with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure we submit competitive bids and provide solid scope clarity on both commercial and industrial electrical projects.
Your Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings and specifications to build accurate, competitive estimates
- Create clear scopes of work and detailed bills of materials
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and scope
- Analyze jobsite conditions and flag risks or cost drivers
- Prepare change orders and track bid/construction updates
- Maintain organized logs for RFIs, subcontractors, change orders, and contingencies
- Prepare bid breakdowns and assist in bid packages and presentations
- Maintain historical cost data and develop unit pricing for future estimates
- Participate in post-bid reviews and project handoffs to support a smooth transition to operations
- Monitor market trends and cost fluctuations that impact labor and material pricing
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs
What We're Looking For
- Electrical estimating experience (commercial and/or industrial)
- Experience with estimating software (McCormick preferred)
- Strong technical writing skills for clear scopes and proposals
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Self-driven with a team-first mindset
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred but not required)
- 2+ years of electrical estimating experience in both commercial and industrial markets
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.)
- Desire and aptitude to grow into additional responsibilities, such as electrical studies and field assessments
- Tech-savvy and driven to improve processes and workflows
