Job Description :

The Position:

The Electrical Engineer position is a hybrid or onsite role depending on departmental requirements. It plays a vital role within this rapidly growing company, involving dynamic and fast-paced responsibilities. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager within the service engineering group, the role is a key member of the service engineering team and is highly technical and customer-facing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering assignments related to the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of solar inverters and battery storage technologies.
  • Lead complex field engineering projects.
  • Communicate technical project details to customers.
  • Create and update troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide training to customers, vendors, and internal teams, including virtual training sessions.
  • Coordinate with R&D engineering in China for technical documentation and training.
  • Handle regional technical issues based on assignments.
  • Lead root cause analysis reports for customers.
  • Track and manage technical issues using Airtable, visualizing the process.
  • Analyze failure trends and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Provide feedback to R&D for design improvements.
  • Lead safety training and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic issues in the field and laboratory, utilizing PQA and oscilloscopes as needed.
  • Investigate solar plant issues, including battery and inverter faults and grid transients.
  • Collaborate with SCADA engineers to set up communication systems.
  • Research and recommend alternative components for field use.
  • Perform a range of field service tasks, coordinating with factory engineering and customer solar plant engineers.
  • Work closely with engineering, logistics, finance, and management teams to maintain solar/BESS plants.
  • Assist with repair activities at the service center.
  • Prepare and submit field reports and technical proposals.
  • Conduct site visits, investigations, and engineering problem analysis, proposing solutions and alternatives.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards.
  • Participate in weekly progress review calls with headquarters engineers.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting on technical issues and activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to operate test equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and construction site safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic understanding of electrical safety standards.

Education or Desired License and Certificates:

  • At least 4 years of experience in power electronics, or 2 years with a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or related fields.
  • Experience in solar, battery, or power electronics industries preferred.

Competencies:

  • Technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and communication skills.
  • System and product-level thinking.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
  • Customer-focused with strong technical support skills.
  • Knowledge of Modbus protocol is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English; Mandarin Chinese is a plus.

Travel:

  • Approximately 50% travel required.

Work Location and Status:

  • Hybrid or onsite, depending on the region.
