Key Responsibilities:

• Schematic & BOM Development: Create and develop schematics and Bills of Materials (BOM) that meet design specifications and product requirements.
• Part Number & Symbol Verification: Request Microsoft part numbers and validate the symbols created by the library team in Microsoft tools to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• BOM Release & Sourcing Collaboration: Release BOMs for board designs using Microsoft tools, identify alternative parts, and collaborate with the sourcing team to optimize component selection and procurement.
• Component Placement & Layout Design: Review component placement and establish design guidelines for the PCB layout. Conduct routing reviews using Allegro to ensure signal integrity and efficient layout, optimizing power distribution and minimizing interference.
• Design Validation & Simulation: Use simulation tools and perform detailed calculations to analyze and verify the design's conformance to the specified requirements and performance standards.
• Supplier & Engineering Coordination: Work closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal engineering teams to ensure the product is developed on schedule and meets high-quality standards.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with mechanical engineering, firmware, hardware verification, and other engineering disciplines to optimize the product system from concept to factory production.
• Rapid Prototyping: Design, build, and test rapid prototypes to evaluate new product ideas, technologies, or concepts, ensuring feasibility before full-scale development.
• Design Troubleshooting & Support: Lead investigations into design issues, offering support for development, maintenance, failure analysis, and issue resolution activities.
• Documentation & Communication: Develop comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, schedules, and presentations, to clearly communicate the electrical design progress to stakeholders.

Requirements:

• BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in designing, developing, implementing, and delivering high-volume consumer electronics products with medium to high complexity.
• Hands-on Experience in both analog and digital electronics, including RF, WiFi, BT, audio, video, electromechanical systems, low-power designs, charging, touch displays, and sensors.
• Experience with x86 or ARM architectures, including GPU / SOC, and experience with high-speed serial buses (e.g., PCIe, DP, USB4, Thunderbolt, MIPI, SPI, NAND Flash) and high-speed parallel buses (e.g., LPDDR5x memory).
• Experience in Power Management ICs, LDOs, and DC-DC designs, particularly for Microsoft product lines.
• Expertise in high-speed digital design, signal integrity, layout, and power distribution for modern processors.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards and experience in meeting these requirements through schematic design for consumer electronics.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a solid understanding of core engineering principles, circuit design, and analytical techniques.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $130000 per year

Pay Range Maximum: $155,000 per year

A candidate's pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year
