The Electrical Engineer oversees the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of projects ranging from $1M to $40M. Responsibilities include upgrading and designing equipment, specifying materials and services, and managing installations, startups, and troubleshooting. This role leads projects from scope definition to execution, collaborating with diverse plant teams, contractors, and maintenance personnel to ensure equipment functionality, reliability, and efficiency. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer provides recommendations to enhance equipment and overall production system performance.
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/ GED
- Proven success in plant electrical engineering projects, especially equipment specification, installation, and hand-off to operation teams.
- Design, or supervisory design experience in electrical systems, mostly 480VAC.
- PLC/ HMI/ SCADA systems design experience (Rockwell).
Job Responsibilities:
- Safe, on-time, and on-budget development and execution of capital projects.
- Electrical engineering/design responsibilities from concept development through hand-off to plant.
- Work with internal and external engineering resources, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors to achieve project goals.
- Perform engineering tasks such as analytical problem solving, design calculations, review of proposals from equipment suppliers /contractors, selection of equipment/contractors, and drawing management.
- Recommend and prepare changes, additions, and modifications that will facilitate the value created in the manufacturing process.
- Ensure processes are capable, have sufficient controls, and can meet delivery requirements and cost targets.
- Ability to be on the shop floor when required, access equipment via ladders, high reaches, and other means to effectively evaluate progress, issues, and solutions.
