Fusion Engineering is seeking an electrical engineer to join our multi-disciplinary scientific and engineering consulting team. We serve industrial, insurance, and litigation clients across the country and throughout the world. Our team assists clients in “making the complex simple” by providing technical expertise across a range of subject matters including design analysis, post-accident investigation and reconstruction, failure analysis, and intellectual property matters. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
Job responsibilities:
Evaluate the root cause of failed and damaged electrical components including damage arising from lightning, electrocutions, electrically related fires, and consumer and commercial electrical failuresTravel to accident scenes or client sites to perform inspections, gather data, and secure evidenceAnalyze fires, failures, and accidents involving all types of electrical equipment and wiring systemsDetermine the cause and origin of electrical defects and/or damageCollaborate with fire origin and cause investigation expertsReview electrical systems and wiring diagrams for compliance with the codes and standards, including the National Electric CodeDevelop electrical circuits for custom test fixturesEvaluate existing materials to draw conclusions and/or identify an action planManage projects from inception to completion, providing guidance to clientsParticipate on multi-disciplinary teams to analyze complex issuesPrepare concise written reports of analysis and conclusionsProvide testimony of findings at deposition or trialAuthor technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journalsPresent at technical conferencesDevelop client relationships and promote business growthAssist in marketing technical capabilities to clients and the scientific communityIdentify, develop, and secure new business opportunitiesRequired qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical EngineeringAt least 10 years of relevant experience, preferably including experience in consulting and/or testifyingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work at a fast-pace in a team environment and independentlyStrong organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneouslyTravel requirements: Up to 35%, as required by project work
