Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Aerospace Electrical Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems for aerospace applications, including aircraft, spacecraft, and other aviation systems. The ideal candidate will work with a team of engineers to ensure the safety, reliability, and performance of electrical components used in the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Design electrical systems for aerospace applications, including avionics, power distribution, and control systems. Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for electrical systems used in aircraft, spacecraft, and related aerospace systems. Develop and test electrical systems and subsystems to meet rigorous aerospace standards and requirements.
- Testing & Analysis: Perform electrical tests on aerospace components and systems to validate design, functionality, and performance. Analyze test data and provide solutions for system improvements or issues found during testing. Ensure all electrical systems function optimally under various operational conditions, including extreme temperatures, vibrations, and other environmental factors.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure electrical systems meet all applicable safety standards, aerospace regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA, MIL-STD), and industry best practices. Stay up to date with the latest aerospace standards, electrical design practices, and technological advancements.
- Integration & Troubleshooting: Integrate electrical systems with other aerospace subsystems, such as propulsion, avionics, and navigation systems. Troubleshoot electrical systems to identify and resolve issues in design or performance. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, systems, and software engineers) to ensure full integration and functionality of the overall system.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, schedule, and budget. Lead or assist in project planning and execution, ensuring milestones are met and quality standards are adhered to. Prepare technical documentation and reports, including test plans, specifications, and progress updates. Develop and propose innovative solutions for next-generation aerospace electrical systems. Work on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support during the manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases. Support maintenance teams with troubleshooting and resolving electrical system issues in operational systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical design, testing, and troubleshooting, particularly in aerospace or high-performance systems.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace electrical systems, avionics, power systems, and control systems.
- Experience with Ansys is required.
- Proficiency in CAD and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, MATLAB, Simulink, PSpice).
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, MIL-STD, DO-160).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience with embedded systems, flight control systems, or power generation and distribution in aerospace.
- Knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation and avionics testing.
- Familiarity with avionics communication protocols and systems (e.g., ARINC, CAN, Ethernet).
- Experience with spacecraft electrical systems or satellite power systems.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, typically requiring a combination of office-based design work and on-site testing and integration.
- Travel may be required to test sites, manufacturing facilities, or customer locations.
- May involve work in specialized facilities where safety precautions and environmental considerations (e.g., clean rooms, high-voltage testing) are required.
