Job DetailsKey Responsibilities:Design building electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systemsAssess existing site conditions and oversee field measurementsCollaborate with clients to define project objectives, requirements, and available resourcesConduct code analysis and ensure design compliance with applicable regulationsDefine and manage the engineering scope, budget, and schedule for each projectDevelop and coordinate Revit models using existing plans, documentation, and surveysPrepare engineering contract documents and calculations using CAD tools and electrical design softwareSelect appropriate materials, equipment, and system componentsReview and verify technical accuracy and coordination of project documentationDevelop project specifications and supporting documentsPerform material quantity take-offs and assist in preparing cost estimatesStay current with electrical codes, standards, and industry best practicesReview construction submittals for compliance with design intentConduct periodic site visits during construction to monitor work and ensure adherence to construction documentsQualifications:5–10 years of experience in electrical engineering design within the architecture/engineering industryBachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringNew York State Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT certification required with active participation in a licensure development programProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for electrical design is requiredStrong written and verbal communication skillsSolid understanding of the International Building CodeProject management and/or team leadership experience is a plusApplicants must be U.S. citizens and may be subject to government security clearance requirements for access to classified informationInterested in hearing more?
