Position Description

Thompson seeks to hire an Assistant Project Manager within our Regional Capital Projects Group. This role will support projects in the Low Country and Midlands areas of the state. In this role, you will need to estimate, plan,direct,and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives ofprojectare accomplished within prescribed time and budget parameters.

Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews project proposal orplansto determineestimate, schedule, budget limitations, procedures for accomplishingproject, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases ofproject.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase ofproject, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel or subcontractors.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Prepares status reports on project and provides monthly updates to Project Manager.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Responsible for execution ofprojectas designed and submits change orders for any adjustments to the plan as necessary
  • Oversees safety compliance and performance. Ensures immediate corrective actions are taken if necessary
  • Participates in the evaluation of the Site Superintends performance in their effectiveness in implementing and enforcing management values
  • Responsible for customer's satisfaction with Thompson services
  • Monitors and guides the on-site staff with regard to the following issues:Reports• Billings• Financials• Personnel issues• Acts as a liaison betweenon-sitegroup and Project Manager

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years minimum experience with electrical projects.
  • Experience with electrical projects extremely helpful.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills, attention to details.
  • Strong math and analytical skills in regard to cost and pricing.
  • Ability to work effectively and ensure that we meet project deadlines.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

Other Requirements

  • Willing to work overtime as required to meet deadlines.
  • Candidatewill be required to pass a criminal background check based on job location/requirements.
