Caterpillar Inc. seeks an Electric Components Sr. Engineer at its facility located at 2427 E Engine Drive, Chillicothe, Illinois 61523.

This role involves responsibility for high voltage connectors and charge port connectors on Caterpillar machines, including new product development, technology selection, requirements verification, supplier collaboration, component validation, product support, cost reduction, and lifecycle management. The engineer will work closely with internal systems, suppliers, and global teams, applying technical principles to design and problem-solving, preparing concepts, and managing development plans within NPI workflows. The role also includes leading development teams, coordinating testing, and supplier evaluations, with a travel requirement of 10% domestically and telecommuting 2 days/week.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Engineering and Technology Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Six (6) years of experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or related in earthmoving equipment, diesel engines, or high voltage systems.
• Experience with project management, supplier collaboration, FMEA, DFM/DFA, and component lifecycle responsibility.

Salary Range: $122,325.00 - $165,840.00
