We're looking for an experienced EHS professional to lead compliance, culture, and continuous improvement in a hands-on, high-impact role.We have an opening for an EHS Specialist to join our team. The EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Freshpack is a custom cheese packaging company that develops and innovates cheese products and packaging. Our products can be found in all 50 states and in most major retailers. Over the past 25 years, our team has grown from 15 to 270+ employees. It is an exciting time to join our team, as we are poised for substantial growth over the next 3-5 years. ResponsibilitiesHealth & Safety ComplianceMaintain and update all programs and documentation under the company's safety & health program, including OSHA-mandated elements such as:o Hazard Communication (HazCom)o Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)o Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)o Emergency Action Plans (EAP)o Bloodborne Pathogenso Hearing Conservation ProgramEnsure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to employees in a language they understandLead and document workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analysesInvestigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and identify root causes and recommend corrective actionsMonitor safety training compliance and coordinate with Training & Development to ensure regulatory requirements are metMaintain and post OSHA logs (300, 300A) as requiredServe as the primary contact during OSHA inspections or audits; lead internal audit readiness effortsEnvironmental ComplianceEnsure compliance with waste disposal, stormwater, wastewater, and chemical storage regulationsManage reporting and recordkeeping related to environmental permitsOversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including vendor coordinationSafety Culture & Continuous ImprovementChampion a proactive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement initiativesLead Safety Committee meetings and support site leadership in implementing safety improvementsCollaborate with Maintenance, Operations, HR, and Quality to support cross-functional safety goalsIdentify opportunities to reduce risks and costs associated with workplace injuries and hazardsRequirements:QualificationsBachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; or hold a CSP or CIH certification5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, food production, or related industrial environmentWorking knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practicesStrong interpersonal and communication skills; able to train and influence at all levelsAbility to conduct root cause analysis and follow up on corrective/preventive actionsProficiency in MS Office and safety management systemsBilingual (English/Spanish) a plusOSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification a plusCompensation details: 70000-70000 Yearly SalaryPIb606a0147###-####0-38198228
