7.0 hours (4.0 Health Room/ 3.0 LAP Latino Liason Support)DUTIES DAILY
- Arrive to work in health room 15 minutes prior to start of school. Will be present in health room for duration of student lunch and recess times (will take lunch before or after)
- Cleaning health room - at start of day and end of day and as need arises
- Caring for ill or injured students, documenting their visits in the health log and calling parents and documenting that conversation as needed.
- Administering medications to students following Eastmont District Medication Policy. Creating medication administration log with students' pictures.
- Assist nurse with clerical duties and projects as needed (sending out letters, making phone calls, running reports, etc.)
- Support latino families.
- Bilingual required.
ON-GOING
- Reviewing and filing student health information forms and alerting nurse to any health concerns
- Keeping health files and health assessment forms up to date.
- Creating new files for new students
- Removing files on withdrawn students and placing in separate file behind enrolled students
- Notify school nurse of new/withdrawn students
- Assist with immunization compliance.
- Assist nurse with clerical duties and projects as needed (sending out letters, making phone calls, running reports, etc.)
- Current CPR certification and First Aid card
- Restocking supplies and notifying nurse when supplies are low. Inventory supplies at the beginning or end of the year
- Updating and restocking the Frist Aid Kit in the Health Room.
- Latino liasion and parent outreach support.
WHEN NEED ARISES:
- Trained to implement Emergency Care Plans and Individual Health Plans on students at their school.
- Notify school nurse when new medications/orders come into the health office and scan and send copy of doctor's orders to nurse
- Notify school nurse of upcoming field trips and preparing medications for students going
- Assisting with vision screening and follow-up with vision referrals
- May be asked to perform medical procedures that can be delegated if trained by the nurse.
- Assist diabetic students with diabetes management
- Screen students for Covid-19 and assist RN with contact tracing.
- Other duties as needed
- Assist in the control of communicable diseases according to procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of information learned regarding students and families.
- Notifies RN and building Principal of serious incidents, significant health problems and possible child abuse.
- Exhibit knowledge of job limitations and accepts supervision.
- Follows district policy infection control measures, cleaning of cots and equipment.
Mandatory Conditions of Employment
- High School diploma, or equivalent, and
- Have one of the following:
An AA Degree from an accredited academic college or university A minimum of 72 college quarter credits Have passed a district-recognized assessment of basic skills and instructional proficiency (currently the ETS test) Training in use of behavior management preferred. Expereince in medical field or similar related position. Ability to work collaboratively as a team. Previous successful work with children with behavioral challenges preferred Successful clearance of the FBI and Washington State Patrol fingerprint background check Successful Washington State Sexual Misconduct clearance Completion of federal I-9 form Must be bilingual in Spanish Benefits:
