Position Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Manager to lead our site's environmental, health, and safety programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations while cultivating a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the facility. The ideal candidate has a strong background in OSHA compliance, environmental permitting, and employee training, along with the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, and corporate leadership. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation, and management of EHS policies, procedures, and programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations (air, water, waste, hazardous materials, etc.)
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Manage all required permits, filings, and reporting related to environmental compliance and health/safety performance
- Provide training and education to employees on safe work practices, PPE, ergonomics, chemical handling, and emergency response
- Act as site representative during agency visits, inspections, and third-party audits
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for near-misses, injuries, and environmental incidents
- Track and analyze EHS metrics; prepare reports and dashboards for leadership
- Coordinate with corporate EHS resources and stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes
- Support capital projects and new equipment installs with EHS guidance and reviews
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or chemical setting
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulatory standards
- Experience with environmental permitting (air, stormwater, hazardous waste, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to train and influence all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with EHS management systems, incident tracking tools, and Microsoft Office
Preferred:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), CHMM, or equivalent certification
- Experience in ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus in multilingual environments
