Title: EHS Manager
Location: Brookfield, WI
Direct Hire
Starting Pay: Up to 110k depending on experience
As the EHS Leader you will be developing, implementing, and continuously improving upon the programs that support the health and safety initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Train and lead staff in safety in the workplace and ensuring everyone adheres to standard operating procedures
- Lead a pro-active approach to potential safety hazards in the plant.
- Help maintain and continuously improve EHS in the plant by ensuring policies, procedures and processes comply with legislation
- Oversee the plant's emergency management procedures, conduct audits, training, etc, as appropriate to ensure adequate response capabilities
- Proactively coordinate and execute the necessary risk reduction techniques associated with the plant's operations, and work with colleagues to avoid or reduce those risks and ensure safe systems of work for all activities
- Carry out investigations into any accidents and near-miss incidents that may occur; record and report on findings as required; notify management of all matters reportable under the appropriate internal and external reporting systems
- Build relationships with key stakeholders to foster support for EHS processes and programs
- Provide new hire orientation outlining the Company's expectations regarding safety rules and regulations.
- Drive a strong safety culture focused on incident prevention, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance
- Any other duties as assigned
Experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in occupational safety, environmental science or a closely related field
- Must have proven EHS leadership in plant manufacturing environment. This role will not have any direct reports for now, but must be able to manage the EHS function at the plant and will be the subject matter expert in this department
- Ability to actively participate in team-oriented processes influence team engagement and to drive team decision making to conclusions / solutions
- Must be up to date with all regulatory guidelines and best practices
- Great communication and ability to build relationships with other leadership/stakeholders to push a strong safety culture
