This flexible, part-time role is ideal for a seasoned EHS professional looking to make a difference while maintaining work-life balance.The EHS Consultant will ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace by conducting risk assessments, training employees, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading safety initiatives across the organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with EHS regulations.
- Develop emergency response plans and conduct drills.
- Develop JSA's to determine the safest way to complete tasks.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain records and documentation as required by regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations and standards.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses to determine causes and recommend preventive measures.
- Training and Education:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures and ensure compliance
- Promote awareness of safety practices and procedures across the organization.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory agencies as required.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Track and report on key EHS metrics and performance indicators.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives to improve the organization's EHS performance.
- Lead safety committee and provide leadership report outs
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST)) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools.
