Educational Therapist or Reading Specialist
Adapted Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Educational Therapist or Reading Specialist to provide individualized academic support for students with learning differences. This role involves working with children and adolescents either one-on-one or in small groups, helping them develop essential learning skills and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or teaching credential strongly preferred
- Experience with structured literacy or multisensory intervention programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Slingerland, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell, Making Math Real is highly preferred
- Experience working one-on-one or in small groups with children aged 5-18
- Ability to interpret psycho-educational and neuropsychological reports and develop appropriate intervention plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and intervention for students in grades K-12 with learning challenges
- Develop and implement data-driven intervention plans tailored to each student's needs
- Conduct progress monitoring to track growth and adjust strategies accordingly
- Support parents/guardians in navigating educational placements and services
- Collaborate with students, families, school staff, and professionals for comprehensive support
- Engage in ongoing professional development
- Starting as part-time with potential to transition to full-time
