Education-Group Tutor - The Boys' Club of New York : Job Details

Create and provide literacy and writing-based lesson plans for tutoring sessions. Provide tutoring or manage a group of up to four boys during tutoring sessions. Provide academic support in English/ Language arts, especially writing for students in grades 2-12. Observe and track member's progress and attendance, through logs, diagnostics, incentive systems, etc. Reinforce positive student behavior and clubhouse rules; maintain a positive relationship with all members, families and staff. Write, implement and adapt a curriculum and training methods that meets participants' interests. Prepare class materials, curriculum, and bulletin displays, and make copies as needed. Attends required department meetings and training sessions. Qualifications. Bachelor's Degree with a focus in English, Education, literacy, and/or other highly relevant field is preferred. At least 2 years of experience as a reading/ English/ writing tutor or classroom teacher Comfort with students and ELA subject content...Tutor, Education
