Job Title: Ed Center Receptionist/HR Clerk

Primary Purpose:
Provide reception for the Ed Center and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the HR Department and Ed Center departments.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding skills
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
Ability to work independently and use sound judgment
Ability to be proactive
Ability to have a positive attitude at all times
Experience:
Three years of clerical experience in an office setting
Public school reception/secretary preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception and Phones
* Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route them to appropriate staff.
* Greet and direct visitors to appropriate offices, campuses, and other buildings.
* Assist the public, staff, and students as needed.
* Communicate with a positive attitude and helpful demeanor at all times
* Assist applicants and volunteers with questions over the phone and in person.
HR Duties
* Review job applications, verify qualifications, and process for administrators to view
* Communicate with applicants on the status of applications that were not processed for admin viewing
* Assist applicants and employees applying for positions.
* Prepare monthly Board Reports.
* Prepare and distribute needed Job Descriptions to employees annually
* Process and distribute appropriate Service Pens annually.
* Maintain strict confidentiality.
Office, and Clerical
* Provide clerical assistance as needed.
* Receive and distribute messages and other documents to various departments.
* Assist in the preparation of various reports and compiling data as requested.
* Scan various personnel documents.
* Regular attendance.
* Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Equipment Used:
Multi-line phone system, personal computer, scanner, copier, label maker, and fax machine.

Work with frequent interruptions, and maintain emotional control under stress. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of the computer. Continuous sitting.
