Shoe Carnival, Inc. is searching for an eCommerce Content Specialist to optimize content that drives both engagement and sales. This position will report directly to our eCommerce department at our South Corporate office (1800 Innovation Point, 5th Floor, Fort Mill, South Carolina) on Monday through Thursday and will work remotely on Friday from home. Enjoy working at our South Corporate office located at 1800 Innovation Point, 5th Floor, Fort Mill, SC. Primary office hours are 8:00am-5:00pm with the option to work offsite on Friday. Starting salary: $60,000. Commensurate with experience. Summary: The eCommerce Content Specialist II is responsible for optimizing, publishing, and maintaining high-performing content assets across ShoeStation.com and ShoeCarnival.com using our content management system (CMS.) You'll be the CMS power user--ensuring that images, videos, gifs, and calls-to-action (CTAs) are implemented effectively, aligned to strategy, and optimized for customer engagement. While you'll work closely with the creative team, this role does not own creative direction. Instead, your strength lies in optimizing and deploying content based on expert knowledge of site experience best practices. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Owns day-to-day operations of the CMS to publish content across digital storefronts.
- Uploads and optimizes static images, videos, and gifs for performance, speed, and visual impact.
- Partners with the on-site merchandisers to execute campaign strategies on sites.
- Fine-tunes asset placement, image cropping, and CTA positioning to drive engagement and conversion.
- Performs QA checks to ensure high-quality execution and functional accuracy.
- Applies UX-informed best practices when laying in copy, visuals, and interactions.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Creative, Product Management, Merchandising, and Development teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's, Associate's degree or equivalent work experience, required.
- 3+ years experience working in a CMS required, preferably in a high-volume eCommerce environment.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Figma, and other image editing tools, required.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail, with an eye for visual consistency and quality.
- An understanding of user experience principles, especially related to content layout and interaction.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an aptitude for critical thinking.
