UPMC is seeking an Echo Technologist to support the Echo department at UPMC Harrisburg

Location: UPMC Harrisburg

\n

Employment Type: Full-Time

\n

Schedule: Monday through Friday with staggered starts between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm

\n

Rotating weekends, holiday and on-call is required.

\n

\n

We are currently offering generous Sign-On Bonus Options for eligible new hires:

Responsibilities:

\n
    \n
  • Performs or assists Lead Sonographer or Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • \n
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team. Demonstrates a working knowledge of equipment and processes and is able to troubleshoot issues.
  • \n
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills and a willingness to educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students.
  • \n
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups. Works directly with Cardiologists regarding protocol development.
  • \n
  • Exhibits advanced level of knowledge related to normal anatomy and pathology. Able to recognize pathology and the ability to think critically, assessing the patient results for communication with the physician.
  • \n
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level I Sonographer.
  • \n

  • \n

    Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.

    \n

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:RDCS or RDMS registered or registry eligible preferred. Completion of Physics portion of registry preferred. Must obtain RDCS or RDMS within 12 months of hire date.

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    • \n
    • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

    • \n
    • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

    • \n
    • Act 33 with renewal

    • \n
    • Act 34 with renewal

    • \n
    • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

    • \n
    \n
