Echo Tech-PD - CATHOLIC HEALTH SERVICES OF LONG ISLAND : Job Details

Of the Echo Technologist: Provides explanation to the patient regarding test being performed. Utilizes two identifiers (Name and Date of Birth) to identify the patient. Preps patients for echocardiogram. Performs transthoracic echocardiographic examinations to make determinations as to which modalities, techniques, and approaches should be applied, (i.e. M-Mod 2-Dimensional, Doppler, stress echo, specific patient maneuvers, specific acoustical window approaches.) Evaluates Echocardiographic findings, recognize normal and complex congenital and pathologic in order to obtain adequate diagnostic data for physician interpretation. Calculates echocardiograph/ Doppler data obtained from the following examination M Mode quantification at the level of aorta, mitral valve, and left ventricle; Calculates ejection fraction from M-mode and/or 2-D study; Doppler calculation of valve gradients; Doppler quantification of inefficiency degrees.
