They have developed cutting-edge molecule detection instrumentation for researchers across academic and pharmaceutical sectors. As they expand operations into the US, they're seeking a passionate and strategic Business Development Manager to lead growth efforts on the East Coast.
About the Role
As the Business Development Manager for the Eastern US region, you will be instrumental in building new customer relationships and driving adoption of the company's current and upcoming product lines. Your initial focus will be on the academic sector, expanding into pharma, biotech, and contract research organizations (CROs) as the business scales.
This is a remote role with a preference for candidates located in or near Boston.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and qualify new leads through networking, industry events, social media, cold outreach, and more
- Manage a robust sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM, with accurate forecasting
- Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers across academia, pharma, and biotech
- Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing—to meet and exceed revenue targets
- Partner closely with marketing and applications teams to align strategies and ensure customer satisfaction
- Clearly communicate the value and differentiation of the company's technology to potential customers
- Provide product demonstrations, overcome technical objections, and convert interest into successful sales
- Deliver customer and market feedback to internal teams to inform future product development
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field; advanced degree preferred
- 4+ years of experience in sales or business development, ideally in life science instrumentation or tools
- Strong understanding of the needs of academic and commercial research labs
- Proficiency with HubSpot CRM and other modern sales tools
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to customer engagement
