This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Early Career Field Engineer - Construction Management for our Springfield, IL office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.Your Impact* Complete training on assigned tasks.* Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.* Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.* Provide limited office management of a construction management project.* Review and update schedules and record drawings.* Keep logs of contract documents.* Assists with construction field work tasks and activities on a project to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, and other contract documents.* Upload documents to project's construction management document control site.* Perform engineering submittal review for compliance with contract documents.* Observe material test reports for contract compliance.* Perform office engineer duties such as but not limited to material submittal reviews for contract compliance, take meeting minutes, process contractors pay estimates, respond to Request for Information (RFIs), and perform quantity calculations.* Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents.* Reviews contractor's daily construction reports for accuracy, thoroughness and consistency.* Consults with Resident Engineer on work progress and construction problems, proactively recommends solutions, assists in the resolution of issues, and acts as a liaison with the engineer of record.* Identifies some discrepancies or conflicts within documents and gains familiarity with the quality of work performed using inspection checklists.Who You AreRequired Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.* 0 to 3 years of relevant post-education experience.* Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.* Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.* Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills.* Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products.* Valid Illinois Driver's license.* The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.* Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Preferred Qualifications* Experience with Office Engineering duties on large construction projects.* Experience with Labor Compliance and verification of Certified Payrolls.* E.I.T.
