Title: Dual Language Program Coordinator Contract Year: 228 days (prorated for 2024-2025) Effective Date: Available immediately Salary Grade/Range: $80,000 - $90,000 The Dual Language Program Coordinator is responsible for aligning and coordinating dual-language programs to provide leadership and expertise on dual language education curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices, ensuring staff quality through recruitment and professional learning, and engaging in family and community outreach and education. The Dual Language Program Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the Office of English Learners. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's degree in Education, Linguistics, TESOL, Bilingual Education or a related field preferred. Evaluation & verification of international higher education transcripts/degrees is required through an accredited service. Any evaluation agency that is a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) can be used for this purpose.
- NHDOE licensure as ESOL or eligibility for licensure preferred.
- Bilingualism and biliteracy preferred: written and spoken fluency in applicable World language(s) at the intermediate-high level, as determined by either the AAPPL or Avant STAMP 4S world language assessments, which are aligned to the National Council of State Supervisors of Foreign Language (NCSSFL) & American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) language proficiency benchmarks.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as an EL or ML educator with demonstrated success in improving outcomes for Multilingual Learners.
- Must be proficient in the use of technology, systems and software, including advanced software for AI translation and Adobe Pro.
- Valid NH driver's license
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of the district's dual language program to achieve the three core goals: (1) grade-level academic achievement; (2) bilingualism and biliteracy; and (3) evaluation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of research-based effective practices for effective instruction of emergent bilingual students.
- Coordinate and maintain a cycle of continuous improvement to ensure an effective process for continual program planning, implementation, and evaluation of DL programming.
- Coordinate and provide high-quality professional development that is tailored to the needs of DL educators, program staff, building-level partners and administrators.
- Coordinate activities with family and community to build awareness of the benefits of dual language programming.
- In collaboration with the HR department, support recruitment and retention of highly qualified bilingual and biliterate DL staff.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of an infrastructure to support valid and reliable assessments; as well as an accountability process.
- Maintain inventory for the program, including equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to communicate program outcomes.
- Work with NH Department of Education (NHED) to develop a pathway to professional licensure for DL professionals.
