We are thrilled to announce a rewarding position as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Community Living Department. Our Community Living Department focuses on creating inclusive and supportive residential environments where individuals can thrive and achieve their highest potential.
DSP RATE: $19.68/hour plus $2.00 per Hour Shift Differential for the Weekend Shifts!
What does a DSP in Community Living do? You will support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their individual pursuit of a fulfilling life by working as part of a team in a small residential home setting. You will support residents with life skills and household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry, and light housework; as well as assist with personal care, administer medications, and provide transportation as needed.
When you would work:
- Saturday
- Sunday
- Morning-Afternoon shifts available
- Afternoon to Evening shifts available
Where you would work: A lovely residential home in eitherTaneytown, MD or Westminster, MD.

Requirements:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must have a valid U.S. driver's license with a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience not including time spent on a permit. Must have a clean drug screen, criminal record and a clean/safe driving record. (The Arc provides programs, services, and direct care to vulnerable adults). Basic computer and keyboarding skills. The ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification and other trainings mandated by the Developmental Disabilities Administration and The Arc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift/manipulate at least 50 pounds frequently with ability to lift, carry and/or exert force in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally. Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, and pushing required: Including lifting a wheelchair and repositioning an individual. Ability to transfer individual from a chair to vehicle, bed to chair. Ability to position individual on a sling or Hoyer lift.
