Join AHRC Nassau as a DSP 1:1 / Day Hab at our Jericho location. This full-time position offers family-friendly daytime hours from Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
• Hours: 40 per week
• Pay Scale: $16.00/hour, up to $17.00 with experience

AHRC Nassau provides OPWDD-approved Day Habilitation Services across over 30 locations in Nassau County. We offer no-cost door-to-door transportation, medical oversight by registered nurses, and a dedicated staff committed to meaningful, person-centered experiences every day.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Six months experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• Proficient in verbal, written, and reading skills
• Willing to complete advanced training (e.g., CPR, Clinical Training, AMAP, SCIP-R) as requested by supervisor
• Qualified NYS driver's license required

Primary duties include assisting with behavioral management, promoting independence, and supporting social maturity. Responsibilities also involve managing maladaptive behaviors, crisis situations, and supervising volunteers to ensure effective habilitative and clinical service delivery.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Managing a volunteer within the Day Program, ensuring implementation and documentation of service plans
• Participating as part of activity room staff, performing direct care duties under supervision
• Reassignment in case of volunteer absence, as determined by the supervisor
