Job Description :

At Inceptive, you will drive development forward that could help billions of people. To accomplish this, you will be part of a collaborative, antedisciplinary team building our biological software.

Our AI models learn to generate RNA molecules with improved therapeutic properties by training on natural and experimentally-derived data. Acquiring data relevant to RNA function at scale is a critical step in maximizing the performance of our models. We think broadly about the type and scale of data necessary to improve our models, then identify or invent the methods needed to acquire that data.

You will design and analyze diverse biological datasets that enable AI models to generate RNA molecules, working closely with experimentalists to troubleshoot and scale in vitro assays. You will collaborate across disciplines, leveraging expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and drug development to deliver statistically robust results. You will also collaborate with biologists, ML and data engineers, software engineers, and translational experts to develop scalable data pipelines, automate analysis, and create foundational tools to enhance biological data generation.

Your Mission, should you choose to accept it

  • Embody our vision of an antedisciplinary environment and embrace learning about areas outside of your traditional area of expertise
  • Work closely with experimental scientists to design experiments measuring diverse properties of designed RNAs
  • Analyze, visualize, and communicate results, providing rapid feedback to optimize the utility of datasets for training and evaluating ML models
  • Create, deploy, and refine tools for efficient, reliable data analysis in collaboration with software engineers
  • Collaborate on validation of candidate therapeutic RNA molecules through rapid in vitro and in vivo testing

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience applying computational methods to biological data
  • Experience with a wide variety of data types encountered in molecular and cellular biology, such as sequencing, microscopy, chromatography, and time-course data
  • Experience with identifying and understanding biological data analysis artifacts
  • Highly capable programmer fluent in scientific Python ecosystem
  • Availability to work with team members across US and Europe, with meetings starting at 8am PT
  • Readiness to travel several times a year for company retreats and business events
  • We value the benefits of in-person collaboration and expect candidates to primarily work at our office locations

Preferred skills

  • PhD in computer science, computational biology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (e.g., industry experience, research, or advanced technical expertise)
  • Experience working with experimentalists to deliver quantitative, statistically robust results from biological assays
  • Knowledge of biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, and drug development
  • Proven ability to push the limits of data generation by deconstructing and optimizing instrumentation and assays
  • Experience with analysis automation and data pipelining

Compensation

$135K – $240K + Bonus + Equity
