DOSIMETRY RADIATION THERAPIST - FULL TIME - Watson Clinic : Job Details

Job Type Full-time Description Summary/Objective A Radiation Therapist in Dosimetry at this level will be expected to be capable of developing routine radiotherapy treatment plans 3D to basic IMRT using medical images to all areas of the body with assistance. They will also perform ancillary tasks such as importing simulation images, contouring, and creation of treatment planning documents as needed for the department for both treatment and billing. Work will be under the close supervision of, progressing to limited supervision of, by the Certified Medical Dosimetrist and Physics Staff. Essential Functions Implementing the institutional electronic charting and workflow systems for treatment planning. Performance of radiotherapy treatment plans on a progressive schedule. Manual 2D Calculations (2nd Check of the treatment plans) Image Preparation (e.g. image import, registration, and CarePath assignments) Anatomical and planning contour delineation Participation in Dosimetry related projects designed to improve the radiation therapy processes. Participate in department duties as assigned and attends department meetings. Work Environment & Physical Demands Office work environment. Extensive mental demands. Highly technical work with computers and numerical calculations. Mental ability must include ability to deal with numbers and devise complicated patient setups in the simulation process. Requirements Required Education and Experience Associate in science degree in radiation therapy program. Enrollment in a medical dosimetry program within 6 months of hiring and complete the program within 24 months.
