Position Overview As a Door Person at The Hermitage Hotel, you are the epitome of welcoming elegance—the calm, confident presence at the threshold of one of Nashville's most storied landmarks. From the moment guests arrive, you set the tone for their experience—balancing refined hospitality, mindful anticipation, and dignified composure against the backdrop of a Beaux-Arts masterpiece that has stood as both witness and part of history since 1910. 3. Key Responsibilities First Impressions & Arrival Flow Greet arriving vehicles within 30–60 seconds with a warm welcome, assist with luggage, address guests by name when possible, and escort them efficiently to reception or their room. Luggage Handling & Personalized Escort Service Handle luggage proactively and deliver it within 10 minutes of arrival, placing it thoughtfully. Offer curb-to-room escorts, outlining room amenities and property highlights without pause. Anticipatory Guest Engagement Anticipate guest needs before they're voiced—offering umbrellas, refreshments, directions, or transport suggestions with mindful intuitiveness. Impeccable Presence & Team Interaction Maintain a polished, composed appearance in uniform, posture, and demeanor. Coordinate clearly with Front Desk, Valet, Concierge, and Housekeeping to ensure seamless guest transitions. Security & Flow Management Oversee curbside and valet areas to maintain safety and refined guest flow, screening unauthorized entry and collaborating with valet and security staff. Departure Excellence Respond to departure requests within 5–8 minutes. If immediate response isn't possible, provide gracious alternatives—ensuring guests are never told “no” without a solution. Secure luggage and doors, offering warm farewells that uphold the hotel's legacy of courteous service. Support for Strategic Initiatives Execute brand and operational initiatives with discretion, adaptability, and adherence to refined hospitality standards. 4. Qualifications & Requirements Required Minimum of 2 years' experience in luxury hotel or branded guest service environments. Fluent in English, with multilingual capability (Spanish, French, Mandarin, Arabic) highly valued. Proficient with communication tools: radios, guest preference systems, and basic office software. Flexible availability—including evenings, weekends, holidays; able to lift 50lbs+. Must be 18+. Soft Skills & Behavioral Competencies Interpersonal Awareness : Perceives and responds to unspoken guest needs. Active Listening & Adaptability : Tailors service in real-time to subtle guest cues. Attention to Detail : Maintains flawless lobby and curbside presentation. High-Touch Communication : Uses guests' names and thoughtful phrasing to enhance interactions. Discretion & Integrity : Upholds guest confidentiality at all times. Team Collaboration : Shares guest notes and needs with internal teams to deliver a unified service experience.
