Job Title: Donor Care Specialist Location: Hyannis, MA Schedule: 40 hours per weekShift Options: Rotating Days6:00 AM - 2:00 PM7:00 AM - 3:00 PM8:00 AM - 4:00 PM9:00 AM - 5:00 PM10:00 AM - 6:00 PM11:00 AM - 7:00 PMNote: Occasional weekends and holidays are requiredCompensation: $35/hour (approximately $1,400/week)Position Summary:A leading healthcare provider in the Hyannis, MA area is seeking a dedicated Donor Care Specialist I to join their blood donor services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality donor screening, collection, and care in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Screen blood donors in compliance with CDC, FDA, AABB, CAP, and internal policiesPerform whole blood and therapeutic phlebotomy procedures in both fixed donor centers and mobile settingsLabel and process blood components and specimens for laboratory testingDocument donor and collection information accurately and maintain compliance with quality standardsSupport donor recruitment and provide an exceptional donor experienceMaintain adequate inventory and cleanliness of workspaces and equipmentAdhere to infection control and safety standardsParticipate in quality control processes and improvement initiativesEngage in ongoing training and professional developmentPerform additional duties as assignedAdditional Duties (Based on Level):Donor Room Specialist I:Suggest process improvements to enhance workflow and serviceAssist in departmental quality assurance effortsDonor Room Specialist II (if applicable):Provide guidance and mentorship to new hires or studentsQualifications:Required:High School Diploma or GEDPrior experience in donor phlebotomyBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire)Strong data entry and computer skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and under pressurePreferred:Completion of an accredited phlebotomy program or national phlebotomy certification
