Docketing Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for a Docketing Coordinator at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.

The Docketing Coordinator is responsible for maintaining due dates/deadlines in a computerized docket system for multiple courts and jurisdictions, reviewing legal documents and calculating, recording and disseminating response dates based on court rules and civil procedures.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Processes and maintains all assigned docketing and calendaring work in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepares and distributes specialized docket reports as requested.
  • Maintains and updates all additions and changes in the automated docket system.
  • Searches and retrieves information on litigants, judges and cases from PACER, court-related databases, and other online sources.
  • Responds to written or verbal requests regarding calendared events, pleadings and court procedures and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.
  • Works in conjunction with other paralegals, legal practice assistants, and other business professionals to bring projects to completion.
  • Assists with cite checking and other paralegal duties as required by the role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred in a business-related field from an accredited college or university. An equivalent combination of an Associate's degree, and related experience will be considered. A Paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Three to five years in a legal environment as either a calendar/docket clerk, litigation assistant or litigation paralegal with thorough knowledge of the litigation process, electronic docketing requirements and court rules.
  • Familiarity with court filings and general rules of court for processing pleadings.
  • Solid technology acumen (CompuLaw Vision, iConnect, Lexis Nexis, Westlaw, Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to complete daily tasks, work independently and be a team player.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize issues; manages competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel within the Firm.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite with proficiency in Outlook is required.

This is a hybrid role and will require on-site presence for 3 days per week. The salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $50,000 - $75,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors.
