Divisional Safety Manager
Available: August 2025
Herbein Recruiting is currently seeking a Divisional Safety Manager for a top employer in Berks County. The position will work to prevent workplace injury and illness and promote health and safety awareness and education to fellow employees. The Divisional Safety Manager will develop, update, and/or maintain Safety programs/procedures and practices that establish controls to minimize and/or eliminate employee exposure.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the workplace is in compliance with relevant OSHA and other state, local, or industry specific regulations and that periodic audits are conducted.
- Supports management and employee initiatives to promote continuous improvement in Safety performance and accident prevention.
- Responsible for making sure that Management & employees understand and follow health and safety programs/ policies/procedures (LO/TO, MH, Machine Guard, Confined Space, etc.).
- Audit program effectiveness and develop strategies for continued improvement.
- Accident prevention, focus on root cause analysis to reduce risk. Recommend controls, corrective action and implement upon approval. Promote a safer work environment.
- Take the necessary measures to identify potential workplace hazards and improve existing conditions.
- Ability to assess potential hazards and act safely and quickly in the event of an incident.
- High visibility and responsiveness to employee concerns and management support.
- Knowledgeable of company, state and federal workplace health and safety laws.
- Safety Committee oversight.
- Will be responsible for the development and support of other H&S team members.
- Supports management and employee initiatives to promote continuous improvement in Health Safety performance and accident prevention.
- Periodic status reports to H&S Director and other relevant parties.
- Provide additional technical and administrative support to the Environmental Health and Safety group as necessary.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors' Degree in Safety/Health Sciences equivalent degree or equivalent industrial experience.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required with ability to provide specification for other program systems.
- Individual must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, or within a team environment in a managerial role.
Education/Certifications
- Professional certification preferred but not required.
