About this opportunity:

Manages, administers and evaluates the day to day recruitment functions for the Florida Division; assists the Divisional Headquarters department heads with the employee recruitment process; researches, develops, and proposes recruitment strategies as well as recommends improvements to current systems; develops and maintains the electronic recruiting and hiring process creates job advertisements; reviews applications and provides recommendations for positions which match applicant qualifications; assists the Divisional Human Resources Director in the administration of the Florida Divisional Compensation Program; assists with implementing and administering the divisional compensation program for all CORPS locations; serves as technical resource for these locations with regard to program administration and maintenance; serves as a resource to management when hiring, reclassifying or promoting employees by ensuring compliance with internal pay practices and providing job descriptions and job evaluation for position analysis, including compliance with The Salvation Armys compensation policy and practices prepares and maintains Affirmative Action electronic data records and files.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists in the recruitment and selection of qualified personnel; assists with conducting extensive research into available recruitment methods; prepares detailed proposals and submits viable recommendations for implementation at Divisional Headquarters and/or the division; implements and monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of approved recruitment processes.
  • Organizes and reviews all applications and resumes; provides recommendations for vacant positions which appropriately match applicant qualifications; makes job offers as approved by the Divisional Human Resources Director; maintains The Salvation Army Southern Territory Career website for the Florida Division and applicant tracking system.
  • Responsible for conducting onboarding orientations for new employees at Divisional Headquarters. Updates orientation information as needed and researches best options for implementation and dissemination.
  • Researches and writes job descriptions, conducts interviews of employees and/or management in order to learn job duties; conducts job audits of job duties being performed and job description/evaluation appropriateness, revising as necessary.
  • Under the guidance of the Human Resources Director, completes compensation program review; including review of the Divisions salary structure and position titles, grades, and criteria as requested.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, human resources or a related field.
  • Two years experience as a recruitment professional, five years of progressive leadership experience in human resource positions managing the process of analyzing and reviewing the hiring process and organizational planning and development.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to operate and answer the telephone. Ability to perform both routine and complex mathematical calculations. Ability to operate a personal computer with knowledge of Excel software and spreadsheet creation.

Work is generally performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Position requires travel in and around the state of Florida.
