Division Director, Neonatology and Vice President, Neonatal Services

Cohen Children's Medical Center and Northwell Health Leadership seek a leader in academic neonatology to serve as Director of the Division of Neonatology at Cohen Children's Medical Center and Vice President, Neonatal Services, for Northwell Health. The Division includes over 80 individuals based at our Long Island Jewish Hospital and North Shore University Hospital campuses, including faculty, Neonatal-Perinatal fellows, research personnel, advanced care providers, and advanced care provider trainees. Cohen Children's is a 202-bed hospital opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area's only hospital designed exclusively for children. Cohen Children's is nationally ranked in ten pediatric specialties.

Northwell Neonatal Services consists of 16 hospitals providing newborn care including 40,000 births and 5,000 NICU admissions. The successful candidate will demonstrate dedication to improving quality, patient experience, and provider satisfaction as well as a demonstrated record of excellence in academic productivity and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical operations and fulfill the academic mission of the Division of Neonatology.
  • Lead Neonatal Services across Northwell Health, including setting strategy, developing clinical guidelines, improving offerings and clinical quality.
  • Serve as the delegated senior liaison between the Division of Neonatology and senior hospital administration at Northwell Hospitals.
  • Design and implement educational curricula and other educational and outreach programs for the Division.
  • Identify and develop new clinical programs consistent with market opportunities, patient needs, and financial feasibility.
  • In collaboration with Hospital and Pediatric Service Line leadership, oversee annual operating budgets for the Division of Neonatology and Neonatal Services system-wide to ensure annual targets are met and/or exceeded.

Ideal Experience:

  • American Board of Pediatrics certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Nationally recognized as a clinical leader in the field of Neonatology with an outstanding track record of accomplishment in research and education.
  • Outstanding communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital leadership, trainees, and research staff are required.
