Base pay range

$127,000.00/yr - $156,000.00/yr

Overview

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the distribution center, ensuring that goods are received, stored, and shipped efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. This role focuses on operational excellence, team leadership, and continuous improvement in logistics, inventory management, and order fulfillment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and returns
  • Leads and develops a high-performing team of supervisors, and warehouse associates
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols, regulatory compliance, and company policies at all times
  • Monitors and drives key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service levels
  • Champions improvements in safety, productivity, quality, and employee retention
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with supply chain, procurement, transportation, and customer service teams
  • Optimizes warehouse layout, workflow processes, and material handling to increase throughput and reduce costs
  • Implement effective inventory control measures to reduce shrinkage and ensure accuracy
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives and apply Lean principles to reduce waste and streamline operations
  • Manages operating budgets, labor planning, staffing levels, and equipment maintenance schedules
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders
  • Promotes servant leadership: coach supervisors to become Lean advocates and emotionally intelligent leaders
  • Drives employee engagement through regular recognition, team huddles, and alignment with company values
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, environmental, and other relevant safety standards and protocols
  • Delivers cost reductions through effective resource management and process optimization
  • Optimizes labor and equipment utilization to meet service level expectations while controlling operational costs
  • Maintains strict confidentiality
  • Performs other duties and/or tasks as assigned

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control best practices
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution center management
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment
  • OSHA certification or safety training preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean methodologies, continuous improvement, and wase reduction initiatives

Physical Demands

  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions
  • Must be able to lift 65lbs
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and written
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs
  • Must be able to move inside the warehouse while carrying product
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 7+ hours a day
