Ascend Wellness Holdings (AWH) of Newton, MA is looking to hire a Dispensary Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager, in cooperation with the Leadership Team and General Manager, is responsible for executing retail store operations to deliver best-in-class customer experiences and efficient sales processes that drive profitable top-line sales. All duties must align with the values of Ascend Wellness Holdings and support our team, customers, and communities.

Focus areas include Front of House, Service, or Back of House, Inventory.

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or management role in retail, specifically with POS business operations
• Ability to hire a diverse staff by recruiting top talent with varied skills
• Experience in leading teams through learning, development, coaching, and mentorship
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Willingness to learn and adapt to technology and digital tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Ability to pass all background checks and comply with cannabis industry regulations
• Obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Analyze business metrics, create action plans, and gain team buy-in
• Manage P&L by driving sales and controlling expenses
• Oversee retail operations including workforce management, inventory, and technology
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and security policies
• Maintain relationships with regulators, inspectors, and law enforcement
• Focus on customer loyalty and create engaging experiences
• Maintain store appearance standards
• Oversee purchasing from wholesale partners
• Lead innovation in a dynamic environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Manage team performance, address deficiencies, and conduct performance reviews
• Lead team communication through regular meetings
