Dispatcher Intern (Temporary) - University of the Pacific : Job Details

University of the Pacific accepts year- round applications for the Dispatcher- Paid Internship until filled. You will gain valuable hands-on experience in police telecommunications from the University of the Pacifics Public Safety Office. Under general supervision, the Public Safety Dispatcher Intern is responsible for receiving and transmitting routine and emergency telephone and radio messages, viewing camera surveillance systems, and identifying issues important to the departments mission; and performs related work as required. Essential Functions Answers emergency telephone requests for police, fire and medical emergencies. Dispatches police, required equipment, or arranges for response from other departments, as appropriate. Maintains radio communication with University police units and for maintaining logs of the activities of each officer.
