Join our Greater Cleveland YMCA team in living our cause and helping to provide quality, safe and healthy programs and services in our community.POSITION SUMMARY:The Director - Youth & Family Programs is responsible for leading and supervising all youth and family programs, including sports, and the Pathways/childcare program. The Director - Youth & Family Programs is responsible for the development, organization, and implementation of high-quality youth, teen, and family programs. The Director - Youth & Family Programs is responsible for managing new program development, fiscal management, adequate supervision of program staff and volunteers, direction and implementation of all program delivery, quality promotion, and monitoring results against pre-stated performance goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensures programs and services meet community needs to include supervising existing program activities, establishing new program activities, and expanding the program within the community as needed. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Recruits and hires diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity. Onboards and develops them for success.
- Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
- Manages the program, including developing and monitoring the program budget to meet fiscal objectives; compiling program statistics to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program; oversight of the scheduling the needed facilities.
- Collaborates with YMCA leadership and fund development staff to identify funding opportunities to ensure program sustainability.
- Develop, manage, and maintain relationships with school administration, parents' groups, other organizations, and agencies related to program areas.
- Supervise employees in assigned accountabilities, monitor program operation, scheduling and verify time sheets and actual hours worked.
- Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Serves as Cause Driven Leader on Duty (CDLOD) during scheduled shifts
- Adhere to Blood borne Pathogen standards and attend annual training.
- Ensure all classes taught are in accordance with YMCA of Cleveland standards and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- In lieu of Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree in the related field and 2-3 years of related work experience or High School diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate of competency and 4-6 years of related work experience.
Experience:
- Minumum 2 years' experience in the supervision in customer service and/or program management preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' programming experience.
Certification(s) & Requirements:
- CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must be able to effectively motivate management level staff to accomplish organizational goals and objectives.
- Must have ability to create and deliver innovative program/marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of software packages and ability to analysis financial information.
- Self-motivated team player.
- Must be able to model the key

- Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions
- Willingness and ability to be a mandated reporter for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect. All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process: completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s).
