Job Description
The individual selected for this position will supervise the educational services and facilities of Great Basin College (GBC) in Humboldt County, Nevada, including the daily operations of a center in Winnemucca and other rural satellite centers. This will include the supervision of non-academic faculty employees at the GBC centers in this region and oversight of Prison Education in Lovelock.
The position, which is based in Winnemucca, Nevada, requires occasional travel to the Elko campus and other areas for meetings. Travel is usually by driving a car for long distances (hundreds of miles), with or without accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This position reports to the Vice President for Student and Academic Affairs.

The general responsibilities of the Director of the Winnemucca Center are to assist in developing course schedules for fall, spring, and summer terms, assist in the recruitment of full and part-time faculty, advise students, market course offerings, participate in faculty and staff development, manage the center budget, supervise staff, develop contract trainings in conjunction with program deans, promote economic development, and take the College's programs and services out to the communities of Winnemucca and surrounding areas. The Director ensures all GBC and Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) policies are followed and maintains communication with the faculty, department chairs and administrators at the main GBC campus and other centers.
The Winnemucca Director must have the ability to interpret instructions and policies and develop solutions while performing diverse tasks. Programs and activities are pre-planned for the semester and/or year, thus, ability to set priorities is necessary. General independent supervision is received with occasional referrals to supervisor. Frequent direct supervision of other employees (part-time faculty, facilitators, and campus staff) is given. The Director administers the Winnemucca budget and supervises and evaluates staff in addition to supervision of 10-30 part-time faculty and staff.

This is a 12 month “A” contract, 12 month contracts are used for year round programs.
The budgeted salary range for this position is $86,445 – $95,000. Salary is based on relatable education and experience, internal equity and budgets.

Great Basin College is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
