Global Banking & Markets provides a full range of investment banking, credit and risk management products and services relevant to the financing and strategic development needs of our clients.

Purpose: Contributes to the success of the US Loan Trading Desk which is a part of Global Fixed Income ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What You'll Do

• Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Support the US Loan Syndication franchise through trading in the loan market.
• Drive revenue and trading volumes through interactions with our clients and prudent risk taking.
• Support CLO and TRS businesses by providing liquidity to internal platforms.
• Fosters new and existing client relationships in addition to cross-selling existing relationships across other areas and product groups.
• Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Manage trading inventories and generate trading revenues in compliance with limits and the bank's risk profile.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles.
• Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

What You'll Bring

• Holds relevant bachelor's degree (Commerce, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related discipline).
• CFA designation an asset.
• SIE, Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.
• Associated Person of swap dealer. NFA Swap Proficiency Requirement within 30 days.
• Strong financial and computer literacy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, excellent problem resolution and time management skills.
• Ability to respond to enquiries quickly and effectively with confidence.
• Strong work ethic with a high level of attention to detail.
• Energetic with a keen desire to learn new concepts.
