KPMG is seeking a Tax Director to join our Trade and Customs practice. You will be part of a collaborative, future-forward culture that emphasizes client service, mentorship, and ongoing professional development within a leading tax firm.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advice to clients, in a variety of industries, on import and export matters
  • Identify additional areas of opportunity such as international tax, state and local tax and transfer pricing to add value to clients' operations
  • Research U.S. and international import and export trade matters; write and review international trade advice
  • Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
  • Act as a coach, mentor, trainer, or performance manager to other professionals
  • Manage, direct, monitor, and deliver multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction
Qualifications
  • Minimum eight years of recent import/export experience in trade and customs (customs attorney, customs broker, U.S. Customs auditor, or import specialist) with knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, valuation, and informed compliance methods
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; JD and/or LLM preferred
  • Hold one of the following credentials or be willing to obtain one within one year of hire: CBL, CUSICO, CUSECO, CCS, CPA, MBA, EA, or JD/LLM (per KPMG's approved credential listing); recruiter can provide the complete list
  • Previous experience in a consulting firm, trade law firm, or government
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication/presentation skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
