We convene our regional partners quarterly and host an annual workforce summit to advance the professionalism, connectedness and impact of our organizations to share data, spotlight innovative programs, provide progress updates on current/upcoming projects, and create a community of practice and laboratory for partners.This is a full-time, grant funded position at the Talent Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati (TCGC) housed within the Cincinnati Regional Chamber, the TCGC fiscal agent. The Director works with the Steering Committee to ensure strategic goals and objectives are accomplished. The position oversees general and day-to-day operation of the TCGC, reports to the Chair of the Steering Committee and to Audrey Treasure, VP and Executive Director of the Workforce Innovation Center at the Cincinnati Chamber and is accountable to the members of the TCGC.Lead organizations serving on the Steering Committee are Bawac, Brighton Center, Cincinnati State Technical College, Cincinnati Regional Chamber, Gateway Community & Technical College, Hamilton County Office of Reentry, The Health Collaborative, Northern Kentucky Area Development District, Southwest Indiana Workforce Board, Talbert House, Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio and Workforce Council of Southwest Ohio.This role is funded for three years with compensation starting at $70,000. Anticipated funding support in subsequent years for ongoing sustainability.Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and workflow including preparation of project plans, regular progress reports, and collection, review and presentation of key metrics that monitor progress towards strategic objectives and priorities.
  • Collaborative engagement with various segments of the workforce development arena, including employers, industry sectors, K-12 and higher education, labor and other business organizations. Support alignment and cohesion amongst the various groups focused on advancing the workforce in the Greater Cincinnati Region.
  • Manage communication flow with current and potential TCGC members through regular digital communication, updates, and meetings. Influence key decision-makers through targeted communication, presentations, briefs, and outreach, including guiding the work of consultants and partners to carry out this work.
  • Fundraising and grant writing in partnership with TCGC Steering Committee members for ongoing sustainability of the Talent Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati.
  • Grant administration and fiscal tracking to enable the TCGC to maximize funding impact on the Collaborative's goals and priorities.
  • Key point person to the National Fund for Workforce Solutions as TCGC is the regional Network Partner of the National Fund. Participating in site director calls, specific work group opportunities, and other related activities/priorities as they arise.

The Director needs to be comfortable working alongside people with whom they have disagreements; able to be transparent about their own thoughts and views while being open to other perceptions and approaches; and invested in building bridges and finding common ground.Supervisor ResponsibilitiesThe Director does not have direct reports but inspires through influence and consultative partnership.Qualifications And ExperienceThe ideal candidate for Director will demonstrate:
  • Knowledge of workforce development systems, financing, and the ability to be a thought leader in developing innovative workforce development models and policies that lead to structural change
  • Familiarity with grants management, evaluation, and performance management
  • Project management skills and experience with complex, multi-component programs, organizations, or initiatives
  • Seven to ten years of relevant work experience with a proven track record of management success
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related field (e.g. MBA, MPP, Public Administration, or Social Work,) from an accredited university preferred
  • Experience with fundraising and stewardship, including grant writing and proposal development, and experience with public policy advocacy and communications
WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position is located in a climate-controlled downtown office site and requires a minimal amount of external activity. The job will require talking, listening, researching, and sitting for long periods working at a computer screen. This position does not require travel.
