Maximus is seeking an experienced Director, Systems Integration. As a part of our digital solutions organization, the Director, Systems Integration is responsible for providing leadership to the team involved in software development, systems integration and overall business process automation. The Director, Systems Integration is one of the most senior technical members of our team, collaborates closely with technical and non-technical team members. This role expects person to provide thought leadership, innovation, architectural vision, technical mentorship, and technical leadership to all digital initiatives and team members.

This critical leadership role is based out of our Princeton, New Jersey, office location and is expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week to collaborate in-person with the team and other leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lead and mentor teams of managers, architects, and engineers.
  • Oversee and drive architecture for technology solutions.
  • Guide technical selection of enterprise-wide standardized applications.
  • Lead management of enterprise applications and associated infrastructure.
  • Enforce structured approaches and methodologies that align with the key strategies of the organization.
  • Ensure that new technology solutions are optimally designed and integrated.
  • Promote the following qualities in all solutions; scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
  • Lead and direct the work of other employees, including personnel actions such as hiring, performance management, and termination, often through a team of subordinate managers.
  • Work as Senior Technical SME to provide guidance to implementation team.
  • Ensure production systems have adequate support, and are operational.
  • Perform analysis of requirements/RFPs and propose solutions.
  • Explore new technologies, work with onsite/offshore teams in triaging, troubleshooting issues, and solutioning.
  • Assist with planning and managing budgets for software development and support.
  • Drive adoption of industry best practices and standards across the organization.
  • Review team work and contribute to establishing best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and 1-1 meetings with direct reports.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of the team and value creation during projects.
  • Manage upcoming demands and collaborate with recruiters to hire the best candidates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study.
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Additional years of relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years experience in systems integration and building scalable enterprise software applications.
  • 5+ years as Sr. Technical Lead/Solution Architect/Development Manager.
  • At least 3 years of senior leadership and management experience.
  • Experience with full stack development (JavaScript, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Understanding of data integration, ETL pipelines, and tools.
  • Strong background in backend systems integration, REST API, Web Services.
  • Familiarity with AWS technologies, Serverless, Databases, SQL/NoSQL, Low Code platforms.
  • Experience with project/team management, Agile methodology, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of application security, compliance, identity management.

  • A good mix of technology and management skills, capable of solution architecture and providing technical leadership.
  • Proactive risk management skills.
  • Ability to quickly explore and adopt new technology, conduct POCs.
  • Strong analytical skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
