Director, Surgical Services - Operating Room - Full Time - Guthrie Healthcare : Job Details

Provides clinical and administrative leadership and is responsible for the management of the assigned nursing division. The Director of Nursing is accountable for the management of patient care, human, fiscal and material resources and the total environment of the nursing unit. Essential Functions: Provides direction and leadership in the delivery of nursing care. A. Assumes a leadership role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care. B. Supports a professional practice environment which fosters excellence in nursing practice. C. Makes patient and staff rounds. D. Fosters professional nurse empowered decision-making, accountability and autonomy in nursing practice. E. Acts as a resource regarding clinical, administrative aspects of patient care, collaborating with the Vice President Nursing when indicated. F. Provides mentoring, coaching and counseling to staff.
