Job Summary:
Perform duties required to identify and manage sources of domestic and international components and finished goods for multi-location delivery and use. Identify and manage strategic vendors and sourcing partners to minimize supply lead times, manage cost and meet other strategic and tactical objectives.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Education/Knowledge: Bachelor's degree required plus a broad knowledge of technical industrial purchasing and sourcing principles. APICS or other certifications desired.
Experience: A minimum of five years' experience, with seven to ten years , in a sourcing/purchasing role. Must have experience traveling and negotiating with international suppliers. International experience and industry certifications (such as APICS and 6Sigma) . Bilingual or multilingual capabilities .
Skills: Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and be fluent in English. Problem solving, negotiation, and process improvement abilities are also critical. Strong research and analytical skills are required. Must have experience dealing with and understand global cultural and economic conditions.
Physical Requirements: Normal office environment which requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and see. May involve the ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 15 to 20 pounds, infrequently. Must be able to use public transportation and travel overseas, often on an extended basis.
Travel: This position requires the ability to travel approximately 50% of the time, both domestic and international.
